With NEVER KNOWS BETTER and CREATIVE CODE ART, I have been focused on directing gallery experiences targeted toward code based digital artists.
The purpose of the CREATIVE CODE FESTIVAL is to create an outlet for video artists whose livelihood has been impacted due to COVID-19 to project work, host workshops and raise funds for individual projects.
Over the past year the outbreak of the COVID-19 disease and the quarantine that followed has reshaped all of our lives in a profound way that can't be overstated. The pandemic arrived swiftly, and without warning. The virus left no person or business untouched and continues to dictate our reality everyday.
We want our community to have a safe space to explore, share work, learn and feel inspired to continue on knowing that we’re all in this together. Ideally, creating a space for artists to join us online from the comfort of their couch.
Our previous festival dates showcased 400 artists’ work, from community-based submissions to headlining artists such as Tundra, Vitamin Studio and Intus.
We ask for submissions of digital art rendered from node based visual programming languages, thus the term “Creative Code.” This work is typically created in, but not limited to, Touchdesigner, Max/MSP, Notch and Fragment Flow.
From experimental audio and visual installations to artificial neural networks generating artistic patterns, we bridge our community in our festival by showcasing new and upcoming projects being developed through technology and music.
